When you go to the polls this year, you will find a question regarding an amendment to the City of Minneapolis’s charter that should make it easier for neighborhood businesses to serve cocktails. 
Currently, the sale of hard alcohol is restricted to establishments located in areas of seven contiguous acres of commercial property. This requirement is a significant barrier for restaurants located in Victory, which is by and large comprised of residential zoning. The amendment found on this year’s ballot will remove the acreage requirement from the city’s charter. The Victory Neighborhood Association encourages residents to ‘vote yes’ and help make doing business in the neighborhood a little easier.
