ViNA Annual Meeting and Board Elections
The annual meeting of the Victory Neighborhood Association was held on September 25 at 7 p.m. at The Warren. The Board of Directors presented the annual report of activities, events and accomplishments of the organization for the past year. Copies of the annual report are available at the office or here.
The election for the Board of Directors resulted in two directors, Claire Shaw and David Younk being re-elected to their seats. Kris Brogan declined to run again and since no one was nominated from the floor there is an open position on the Board. The board will elect officers at their October Board meeting and consider appointing someone to the open position.
Camden Farmers Market Open
The market opened on July 11 and will be open every Thursday 3 p.m.- 7 p.m. through Oct 3 in the parking lot of The Warren, 4400 Osseo Road.
20 More Little Free Libraries Coming to Victory
20 Victory residents have applied to be stewards of Little Free Libraries giving us complete coverage of the neighborhood. Workshops at which participants will receive kits and help in building and decorating their Little Free Libraries have been scheduled for October 5, October 12 and November 2 from 10 am to 4 pm at The Warren. We will also be helping the stewards with erecting their libraries, getting registered as stewards and stocking their libraries with books. Other libraries have popped up since we began our project, which means by the time we are done we should have close to 30 in the neighborhood, surely one of the best covered neighborhoods in North Minneapolis if not in the entire city.
