Victory Neighborhood

Committees

Much of the work of the neighborhood association is done at the committee level. The following are the ViNA standing committees and their responsibilities. If you are interested in participating on a committee contact either the committee chair or ViNA:

Business Development Committee – Meets : 2nd Saturday  of the month – 8:00 am – Emily’s F&M Cafe – 2124 44th Ave N
Chair: David Younk (davey@victoryneighborhood.org)

  • Oversee programs of the business committee such as the Facade Improvement Grant Program
  • Work with all of the businesses in the neighborhood
  • Work on conditions to make business a part of the community
  • Work to attract new businesses to the neighborhood
  • Implement Appropriate NRP Phase II strategies

Environment Committee – Meets: 1st Tuesday of the month – 6:30 pm – ViNA office – 2200 44th Ave N
Chair: Diane Spector (dianes@victoryneighborhood.org)

  • Any Items with an environmental impact
  • Working on the Ryan Lake Shoreline Restoration and Trail Project
  • Parks and Victory Memorial Drive
  • Assist with installation of rain gardens in the neighborhood
  • Provides Environmental Education
  • Supports the Victory Garden Club
  • Implement appropriate NRP Phase II strategies
  • Initiating a campaign for improved Water Quality

Events Committee – Meets:  1st Saturday of the Month (March – October) – 10:00 am – ViNA office – 2200 44th Ave N
Co-Chairs: Mathew O’Brien  and Katie Fitzpatrick ( events@victoryneighborhood.org )

  • Plan all ViNA events for the community
  • Develop additional community building events
  • Organize Volunteers for the events
  • Implement appropriate Phase II strategies

Housing & Livability Committee – Meets: 2nd Tuesday of the Month , 5:30 pm – ViNA Office- 2201 44th Ave N
Chair: Chris O’Neil (livability@victoryneighborhood.org)

  • Oversee Housing Loan Programs including reviewing all exceptions
  • Make recommendations to the Board about Housing Program changes
  • Work on Housing Inspection issues
  • Work on Rental property issues
  • Traffic issues
  • Crime and safety
  • Youth Corps
  • Oversee Home Security Improvement Grants
  • Implement appropriate Phase II strategies
